He stated that he has <br />talked with the School about the possibility of getting <br />additional students in the future, and they are very recep- <br />tive to this idea. <br />Commissioner Lyons suggested that it might be even more <br />helpful if the Commission forwarded Resolutions to both the <br />School and the student, thanking the School for their <br />participation in supplying the student and thanking Miss <br />Moyer for her excellent cooperation and work. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Pletcher, the Board by a 4 to 0 vote, <br />Commissioner Wodtke being absent, authorized preparation of <br />two resolutions as described above. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that there are a number of <br />programs at State Universities which require the student to <br />serve an internship, and he has been asked if the County <br />would be willing to make use of these services at no cost. <br />He has turned that information over to Dr. Hardin and <br />believe this could be a tremendous resource for the County. <br />(D) Blue Cypress Lake Park <br />Commissioner Bird reported that previously because of <br />the limited amount of space and the difficulty involved with <br />obtaining permits, Blue Cypress Lake Park.did not rank very <br />high in the committee's recommendation for expansion of <br />facilities. Lately, however, a petition signed by several <br />hundred residents has been received, requesting that the <br />Commission take steps to provide safe and adequate overnight <br />camping facilities at this park, and this has shed a new <br />light on the situation. Commissioner Bird continued that <br />last year"because of sub -standard restroom and water <br />facilities, we had to advise Park Supervisor Middleton to <br />prohibit overnight camping.
