a <br />177 <br />mainland, stating that water quality has been adversely <br />affected already. <br />On Motion by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously closed the -public <br />hearing. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons to table the <br />request for franchise from River Bend until such time as the <br />franchise for the North Beach Water Company is approved. <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that he would second for <br />purposes of discussion, and Attorney Brandenburg noted that <br />there is no discussion on a motion to table. <br />Commissioner Lyons withdrew his Motion. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Fletcher for purposes of discussion, to deny <br />the application for the River Bend franchise and get a date <br />of July 7th for a hearing on the North Beach Water Company <br />Franchise request. <br />Discussion followed as to the technicalities involved <br />with regard to readvertising and reapplication for a sewer <br />franchise if the River Bend franchise were to be denied <br />today, and Attorney Brandenburg recommended that, if the <br />Board intended to consider the current request at a later <br />date, they not deny the franchise today, but just delay it <br />to a later date; if the Board desired to set both hearings <br />for July 7th, he would recommend readvertising. <br />Commissioner Lyons and Commissioner Fletcher withdrew <br />their Motion. <br />.4 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by <br />Commissioner Bird, to postpone consideration of River Bend <br />franchise until July 7th and request staff to readvertise <br />according to normal policy, establishing a hearing date of <br />July 7th for North Beach Water Company as well as River <br />Bend, with the North Beach hearing to be held first, at 9:00 <br />A.M. <br />JUN 21992 <br />54 �AOK 49 PAGE10410 <br />
