K 50.Pt ur t04 <br />JUN 16.198 - a <br />Discussion ensued re the need to be prepared to take <br />over the maintenance and security of these facilities when <br />we -accept the property, i.e., there is cafeteria equipment <br />which must be kept functional, a sewer plant, water system, <br />electricity, etc. <br />Commissioner Bird suggested that the Commission accept <br />this property -October 1st after going through the budget. <br />Community services Director Thomas informed the Board <br />that it will be necessary to make a provision in the budget <br />for funds to operate this facility since no provision has <br />been made so far, and the budgets for all departments have <br />been prepared already. He believed the Building Supervisor <br />feels there is a good deal of work that needs to be done on <br />this property right now. <br />Attorney Brandenburg felt the School Board would like <br />some indication that the Commission does, in fact, want the <br />property, and he felt it would be very satisfactory with <br />them if the Board indicated they would like to have it <br />turned over to them October 1st. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, to accept the Douglas <br />Elementary School property on October 1, 1982 <br />and execute the deed at that time. <br />Commissioner Lyons requested that the Board keep in <br />mind the possibility of utilizing some of this space for a <br />branch library. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that the health agency <br />which is desirous of utilizing the wooden structure has <br />funds'set aside and they would like to get started. He <br />stated that while he had no objection to them utilizing this <br />facility, there will be a question of security and we would <br />not be able to enter into any ^areement with them until <br />
