JUN 16 1992 <br />Vice Chairman Fletcher did not wish to put an undue <br />burden on Mr. Wodtke, but felt strongly we should consider <br />the impact this will have on previous information given to <br />the public. He emphasized that the public should be able to <br />have faith in the government's word. <br />Commissioner Lyons suggested running a series of small <br />ads indicating that the date of the hearings has been <br />changed. <br />Vice Chairman Fletcher presented a scenario in which he <br />confronted irate citizens whom he has previously informed <br />that they would be able to speak at a July 13th meeting. <br />Commissioner Bird felt if we do the proper amount of <br />advertising the people who have an interest will be reading <br />the paper and will be informed. The agencies.previously <br />notified can be reached. <br />Robert Reider of Reef Road and member of the Vero Beach <br />Civic Association stated that the one problem area he found <br />is the situation where people -purposely have planned <br />vacations around these dates. He reminded the Board that <br />this problem arose last fall when the meeting had to be <br />moved to larger quarters and was rescheduled to be held in <br />the High School Auditorium. <br />Commissioner Wodtke stated that he did not wish to <br />cause anyone any inconvenience, but it will be physically <br />impossible for him to be here on July 13th. <br />Discussion followed about the agenda for the July 13th <br />meeting, and Planning Manager Challacombe reported that they <br />will be including the changes requested at the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meetings, the changes requested by letter <br />since that time, plus staff -recommended changes, all of <br />which'adds up to 13 items. -He pointed out that this <br />involves only changes on the map and does not take into <br />consideration questions that may arise on the other <br />elements.
