Attorney Brandenburg recommended that the County <br />provide the recording equipment. <br />Commissioner Wodtke interjected that he thought those <br />things originally were included in the 911 System. <br />Mr. Menoni explained that Southern Bell does not make <br />recording equipment - Dictaphone equipment will be used; and <br />Southern Bell did not include this item in their contract. <br />Lengthy discussion followed along those lines. <br />The Attorney stated that the City Police Department was <br />not recording their calls at this time, and that the City's <br />attorney was going to recommend that the City pay their <br />share of the cost of the recording equipment. Attorney <br />Brandenburg commented that the recordings provide perfect <br />evidence for the County._ <br />Commissioner Bird stated he assumed that in an <br />emergency, it was a fail-safe situation to have the <br />recording. <br />Commissioner Lyons interjected that a problem was <br />created in the past because all of the calls were being <br />recorded, and not just emergency calls. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons that the Board <br />approve Change Order #3. <br />Attorney Brandenburg advised that before the County <br />takes any action and commits itself to the entire amount, <br />they should get in touch with the City to share in the cost <br />of the recording equipment. <br />The Motion died for lack of a second. <br />Community Services Director Thomas explained the <br />financial situation and thought the funds would be available <br />in the Contingency Fund. He commented that he would report <br />back to the Board on this matter. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Lyons, seconded by_ <br />Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board approve Change Order #3 <br />based on the availability of funds, and that a -satisfactory <br />JUN 16 1982.0 faLd <br />22 <br />
