obviously reached that decision based on some information. <br />He wished to know if the issue is that the information is <br />not clear to ACT or that it is not clear to enough people? <br />Mr. Zorc stated that it is not clear to enough people <br />and they really have never been invited to participate in a <br />public manner. <br />Joseph Steinitz pointed out that it was not the <br />Hospital Board of Trustees which voted 7 to 1 against <br />selling the Hospital, it was the Long Range Planning <br />Committee. <br />vote. <br />Mr. Zorc argued that the Hospital Board was behind that <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously agreed <br />to extend the hour of adjournment of today's <br />meeting to 5:15 o'clock P.M. <br />Discussion followed in regard to the time element' <br />involved, and Mr. Zorc stated that time is of the essence <br />and felt there is a strategy to stall this matter to make it <br />too late to get on the ballot in November. <br />Chairman Scurlock had a very real problem with the <br />County Commission conducting a public hearing as requested <br />by ACT and interfering in the jurisdiction of another <br />governmental agency, but felt if a large enough percentage <br />of voters said they want a specific question posed at the <br />next general election, this Commission certainly could <br />address that. <br />Commissioner Lyons complimented the members of ACT on <br />their calm approach and presentation, but pointed out that <br />the long term solution lies in who the public elects to the <br />Hospital Board and asked if there really is an emergency <br />involved in connection with a change in the hospital. <br />WOK 50 !A!cE 329 <br />JUL 71982 79 <br />
