7 <br />r �oK 50 Px r 3,32 <br />J U L 7 1982 <br />Indian River Hospital Board is not interested in listening <br />to anyone. <br />In further discussion, it was emphasized that ACT must <br />give the Hospital Board an opportunity to hold hearings - <br />before the County Commission can take any action. <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that if ACT can come back <br />and show him where any individual was denied input, he would <br />be happy to conduct the public hearing for them. <br />It was agreed that the answer is for ACT to go back and <br />pursue the last paragraph of Mr. Ballard's letter. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Fletcher, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously extended <br />the meeting to 5:30 o'clock P.M. <br />ACT DISCUSSES BEACH EROSION CONTROL PROGRAM <br />Commissioner Lyons felt the Commission already had made <br />their position clear when this came up last time. He <br />explained the Commission simply kept the issue alive with <br />the Corps of Engineers and at the same time were seeking <br />information so we would have some idea what we might be <br />called upon to do. When we got that information, he felt it <br />was pretty clear that we would ask for adequate public input <br />before we decided what to do or before we spent a nickel of <br />the taxpayer's money. Commissioner Lyons stated that he has <br />not changed his position on this issue, and Commissioner <br />Bird felt that he had stated the Board's position very <br />accurately. <br />Chairman Scurlock concurred that the Commission does <br />not have any desire to commit any funds until we have all <br />the information and public hearings, and he believed this <br />was the position of the majority of the Commission. <br />Frank Zorc noted there is another item on the today's <br />agenda regarding a Resolution to be sent to the Army Corps <br />
