It is their <br />usual annual request for grant.funds. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unani- <br />mously agreed to add the emergency item to <br />the agenda as requested by Commissioner Lyons. <br />Attorney Brandenburg noted that the Finance Director <br />wanted direction re selection of an auditor and he did not <br />see this on today's agenda. He further requested that con- <br />sideration of right-of-way acquisition for R. D. Carter Road <br />be included on today's agenda. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unani- <br />mously added to the agenda the emergency <br />items re auditor selection and right-of-way <br />acquisition as requested by the Attorney. <br />APPOINTMENT OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />Dr. Hardin reported that after the position of County <br />Administrator had been turned down by first choice Rick <br />Fitzgerald, he contacted Michael Wright, who immediately <br />I <br />accepted our offer of an annual salary of $42,000 with a <br />vehicle allowance of $140 per month from now to October and <br />$200 per month after october. Mr. Wright wasn't too adamant <br />about a letter of intent, but Dr. Hardin felt it would be <br />wise to submit one to him so that we will have a clear <br />understanding that there will not be any severance pay other <br />than the normal severance pay, which is 30 days' salary. <br />Dr. Hardin informed the Board that Mr. Wright can be here <br />not later than the 13th of August and probably sooner.
