JUL 141982 <br />50 Pn 529, <br />He felt it is'only,right to do what they can to satisfy <br />present customers before making extensions into other areas. <br />Fred Payne of Breezy Village complained about poor <br />reception daily on several channels, especially Channel 5. - <br />He noted that he can see the Jones Intercable antenna from <br />his house and did not understand what is happening. <br />Jean Payne stated that they do not mind an increase if <br />they get something worthwhile, but felt Jones Intercable is <br />not giving them the service they are already paying for. <br />Richard Brenner felt Jones Intercable has pretty much <br />of a monopoly and they can ask for anything they want. He <br />suggested the people should get up a petition and try to get <br />somebody else who will give them the service and the <br />quality. <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked if anyone present tonight <br />who also attended the previous two hearings has seen any <br />improvement since the last rate increase. <br />Ten or twelve in the audience raised their hands and <br />claimed they had not seen any improvement. <br />Chairman Scurlock asked if anyone further wished to be <br />heard. There were none. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he was getting very <br />tired of coming up here and hearing the same story every <br />time. He did not see any reason for another meeting with <br />the Commission until the people can get this straightened <br />out with Jones Intercable. - <br />Commissioner Fletcher stated that he has consistently <br />voted against issuing franchises to cable companies because <br />he feels the communications should be between the customer <br />NEI <br />
