(b) Easements to Access Retention and Detention <br />Basins. When the Flood Protection and Stormwater Management Plan <br />calls for retention or detention areas, easements shall be dedi- <br />cated around the perimeter for ingress and egress for maintenance <br />in accordance with the Indian River County Stormwater and Flood <br />Protection Ordinance No. 82-28. <br />7) Median Divider Strips. Median divider strips shall <br />only be allowed on subdivision feeder roads, provided the right- <br />of-way is expanded in an amount corresponding to the width of the <br />median. If mountable curbs are to be used, the median shall not <br />contain plantings, ornaments or decorations that create a solid <br />obstacle. <br />8) Street Names. New streets which are extensions of <br />existing streets shall bear the name of the existing street. All <br />others shall be named with the approval of the Indian River County <br />Planning and Zoning Department in conformance with County policy. <br />In no case shall a name for a proposed street duplicate or closely <br />approximate an existing street name. The Community Development <br />Division shall notify all interested agencies of street name <br />changes or new streets including the postal service, the Sheriff's <br />Department and 911 Emergency System. <br />9) Traffic Control Devices. The design of traffic con- <br />trol devices shall be in conformance with the Manual on Uniform <br />Traffic Control Devices and shall be provided as required by the <br />Public Works Division. <br />D. Bikeways <br />1) Locations. Bikeways shall be installed on all <br />arterial and primary collector routes and along all streets desig- <br />nated by the Community Development Division as school access <br />corridors and as specified in the zoning regulation district <br />applicable to the parcel. With the approval of the County <br />Commission, a sufficient amount may be escrowed with the County to <br />complete the required bikeway. <br />2) Specifications. Wherever possible, bikeways shall: <br />(a) be bikepaths <br />(b) be eight (8) feet wide (minimum) <br />-53- <br />
