T-1 <br />12/0/87.1(Ord)LEGAL(Vk)TP <br />ORDINANCE NO. 87-_(17 —_-- <br />Assessable _Property shall mean all Improved residential <br />real property, improved commercial real property, or other <br />IMr improved real prperty that generates or is capable of <br />generating solid waste. Agricultural land and any <br />unimproved or vacant land shall not be considered assessable <br />property. <br />Board shall mean the Board of County Commissioners <br />acting as the governing body of the district. <br />DisposalCharge shall mean the annual special <br />assessment charge against a parcel of assessable property <br />for the disposal of solid waste for the applicable fiscal <br />year based upon the classification of the use of such parcel <br />of property as specified in the equivalent residential unit <br />("ERU") schedule (Attachment 1). <br />Disposal_ lja�r2.t Ro I I sha I I mean the I i st prepared and <br />confirmed by the Board each fiscal year containing a summary <br />description of each parcel of assessable property within the <br />county, the name and address of the owner of each such <br />parcel as indicated on the records maintained by the <br />Property Appraiser, the rate classification applicable to <br />each parcel of assessable property as specified in the rate <br />resolution, and the amount of the disposal service charge <br />applicable to each such parcel. <br />Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) shall mean the basis <br />-------------------------------- <br />for measuring the solid waste generated. One ERU is based <br />on a single-family equivalent residential unit of 1.3 tons <br />of solid waste per year as the basic unit of service. <br />Garbage shall mean every refuse accumulation of animal, <br />fruit, or vegetable matter that attends the preparation, <br />use, cooking and dealing in, or storage of edibles, and any <br />other matter, or any nature whatsoever, which is subject to <br />decay, putrefaction, and the generation of noxious or <br />offensive gases or odors, or which, during or after decay, <br />may serve as breeding or feeding material for flies or other <br />germ -carrying insects, or any other container of the <br />material defined herein, but excludes animal carcasses. <br />3 <br />
