SOB <br />AUG 41982 <br />Alternative "B" . <br />Instruct Staff to continue testing alternative flooring until <br />such time as a suitable -and acceptable replacement is located which <br />both the Board and Judges can agree upon. <br />Alternative "C" <br />Request the Judges provide the name of a type of flooring <br />which could be used in the Courthbuse. This flooring must meet all <br />fire and building codes. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval.of Alternative "A". Bids would be <br />returned to the Board for approval upon completion of the emergency <br />bid process. <br />Funding would be recommended from the Board of County Commission <br />Contingency Fund, account #001-199-513-99.91 <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Wodtke, seconded -by <br />Commissioner Fletcher, that the Board accept Alternative B, <br />as indicated in the July 23, 1982 memorandum. <br />Commissioner Bird noted they left their last meeting <br />regarding Courtroom C with two questions that were to be <br />answered: what type of floor material should be used, and <br />the name of the engineer the judges would like to have. <br />Lynn Williams, Acting General Services Director, <br />advised that he had not received any information from the <br />judges regarding the floor material or engineer. He <br />indicated that Judge Smith would prefer to have vinyl. <br />Lengthy discussion ensued regarding the immediate need <br />to have a place to hear capital cases. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated that the carpeting has been <br />removed from Courtroom C. If it is removed in the rest of <br />the building, the County would be placing itself in a <br />difficult position for obtaining reimbursement. <br />Courtney Storm, of Carpetbaggers,- a local carpet <br />company, came before the Board and stated that Judge <br />Stikelether had tried the experimental carpet for six weeks. <br />Mr. Storm advised that he checked with the Judge every third <br />
