AUG <br />4 2 MCA_ _., 50 0.6-E 82.0: <br />Mr. Davis explained that assessment could be done <br />several ways and the benefited area must be determined. <br />Commissioner Bird asked whether these roads are such a <br />major problem to the -property owners that they cannot just <br />continue on the same basis. <br />Dr. Holt explained that the maintenance in the past has <br />mainly consisted of filling in the potholes and he believed <br />just one run with the grader could take care of this. <br />Discussion ensued about the County policy that roads <br />have to be brought up to certain standards and Mr. Davis <br />pointed out that the County does not have a standard for a <br />10' wide road. <br />Further discussion ensued about liability arising from <br />acceptance of maintenance, and Commissioner Bird noted that <br />we are talking about two-way traffic on a curving one lane <br />road and he would hate to see the county endorse this <br />liability. <br />It was again emphasized that there are hundreds of <br />roads in the county which have been dedicated, but which <br />have not been accepted for maintenance. <br />Dr. Holt asked if Public Works Director Davis would be <br />willing to come out, meet with the residents, and -take <br />another look at this situation. <br />It was noted that is what the Motion on the floor is <br />suggesting. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />RESOLUTION TO ACCOMPANY.DNR EROSION CONTROL TRUST FUND <br />APPLICATIONS <br />Public Works Director Davis reported that at the last <br />meeting staff was authorized to notify Strock & Associates <br />to prepare two applications to the Department of Natural <br />68 <br />
