RECONMEVDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Since there is only approximately twenty-five (25) animals per year that needs <br />to be quarantined, staff recommends Alternative W. The Board of County <br />Commissioners could direct that staff work closely with the Sheriff's Depart- <br />ment and reach a reasonable fee for "boarding" these animals. <br />There are.no funds available nor budgeted for this project. Recommend <br />Board of County Commissioners Contingency Fund. <br />Lengthy discussion followed about the State Statutes <br />and it was determined necessary to contact Representative <br />Dale Patchett in order for him to get this law brought up to <br />date. <br />Commissioner Bird felt somebody should be contacted to <br />handle the transporting of horses, as well as the feeding, <br />boarding, etc., and suggested Mr. Williams get in touch with <br />Chuck Dent. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, that the Board approve <br />the recommendation as indicated in the memo <br />dated August 12, 1982. <br />Commissioner Bird requested AMENDING THE MOTION <br />to indicate that staff could check into reasonable <br />fees for boarding and transporting the animals. <br />Commissioner Lyons AGREED TO THE AMENDMENT. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. It <br />was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />ON MOTION MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously <br />authorized the Attorney to communicate with <br />Representative Patchett regarding the State <br />Statutes and ask him to look into the possibility <br />of having the fees brought up to date. <br />
