SEC. z #t <br />AIRPORT OR AIRSTRIP: Any run -way landing area designed, used, <br />or intended to be used either publicly or privately for the landing <br />and taking off of aircraft, including taxiways, storage and tie down <br />areas, hangers and other necessary buildings. <br />ALLEY: A public or private way which affords only a secondary <br />means of access to property abutting thereon and not intended for gen- <br />eral traffic circulation. <br />BARS: Any place selling and dispensing for drinking on the pre- <br />mises of malt, vinous or other alcoholic beverages. <br />BUILDING: Any structure designed or built for the support, enclos- <br />ure, shelter or protection of persons, animals, chattels or property <br />of any kind. <br />BUILDING, HEIGHT OF: The vertical distance measured from the <br />average elevation of the proposed finished grade at the front of the <br />building to the highest point of the roof for flat roof; to the deck <br />line of mansard roofs, and to the mean height between the eaves and <br />ridge for gable, hip or gambrel roofs. <br />CHILD NURSERY: Any land and/or structure wherein a commercial or <br />institutional establishment is maintained for the training and/or day <br />care of pre-school age children. <br />CHURCH: Building used primarily by a recognized and established <br />religious sect or denomination for the purpose of worship. <br />CLINIC: A clinic is an establishment where human patients who <br />are not lodged over night, are admitted for examination and treatment. <br />CLUB, PRIVATE: Lands and facilities operated by or for a group <br />or association of persons, and their guests, which are not available <br />for unrestricted public access or use. Such a club may be either a <br />profit-making or a non-profit enterprise. <br />COMMERCIAL FISHERY: A commercial establishment for the receiv- <br />ing, processing, packaging, storage, and wholesale or retail distri- <br />bution and sale of products of the sea. Such an establishment may in- <br />clude facilities for the docking, loading, unloading, fueling, icing, <br />and provisioning of vessels and for the drying, maintenance and stor- <br />age of equipment. <br />DISTRICT: Any section or area of Indian River County to which <br />these regulations apply and within which the Zoning requirements are <br />uniform. <br />
