Commissioner Fletcher discussed having a referendum; <br />i� <br />having a straw ballot; and procedures for removing a member <br />of the Board. He continued that the Attorney indicated to <br />him that the Board did not have the power or authority to <br />create an ordinance that would allow the public to remove a <br />Commissioner. <br />Attorney Brandenburg affirmed his statement and added <br />that the authority to remove a County Commissioner in <br />non -chartered counties was vested in the Governor, with <br />specific reasons for doing so. _ <br />_. _Lengthy discussion ensued; it was determined that the <br />Attorney could look into the matter and 'see what other <br />counties have done. <br />Chairman Scurlock felt that there were various. <br />questions that needed to be explored.
