The Program Office will make its grant decision on or about September <br />17, 1982 and therefore, to be effective the letters of support must reach <br />Mr. Hevey before the 17th. <br />Enclosed for your review is -the Proposal Abstract which presents the <br />essence of the project. If additional information is needed, please contact <br />me. <br />Thank you for considering our request for support of the proposal. <br />Sincerely, <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner wodtke, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, Commissioner Fletcher <br />voting in opposition, the Board by a 4 to 1 <br />vote authorized the Chairman to send a letter <br />of support of the above grant application to <br />the Dept. of Health & Rehabilitative Services <br />as requested by Mr. Ashcraft. <br />REPORT - TRANSPORTATION PLANNING COMMITTEE <br />Commissioner Fletcher reported that the Transportion <br />Planning committee met yesterday, at which time they <br />discussed various changes which will be recommended to the <br />Board in regard to the intersection at 43rd Avenue and SR <br />60. They also discussed curbing on CR 507 in Fellsmere, the <br />extension of Stratton Drive in Sebastian, and the <br />intersection of Old Dixie and S.W. 20th Place, which has <br />been given a priority "C". Commissioner Fletcher further <br />reported that the DOT has done a study in regard to the <br />intersection of CR 510 and U.S.1 at wabasso Bridge, and they <br />agree that this is reaching a traffic intensity where a <br />signal will be needed. He continued that the possibility of <br />a 17th Avenue sidewalk/bicycle path being included in the <br />16th Street project is being investigated. <br />105 <br />SEP -15 1982 800K, .51 NG X64 <br />John R.
