ARTICLE SIX <br />12.2 (CONTINUED BID OR PROPOSAL SECURITY) <br />B. <br />BOND MUST BE DELIVERED PRIOR TO ISSUING CONTRACT <br />DOCUMENT. If required, a performance and payment <br />bond satisfactory to the county, executed by a <br />surety company authorized to do business in this <br />State or otherwise secured in a manner satisfactory <br />to the County shall be presented to the County <br />prior to issuance of a contract document. <br />C. SUBSTITUTES FOR BOND ACCEPTABLE. In lieu of a <br />performance and payment bond, the county may accept <br />cash, money order, certified check, cashiers check, <br />or irrevocableletter of credit. Such—alternate <br />form of securJtjrshall be ff for he same�u. ghse �^a <br />shall be subject to the same conditions as a <br />performance and payment bond. <br />D. AUTHORITY TO- REQUIRE ADDITIONAL BONDS. Nothing in <br />this section shall be construed to limit the <br />authority of the Purchasing Manager to require a <br />performance bond or other security in addition to <br />those bonds, or in circumstances other than those <br />specified -in this Code. <br />12.3 INDEMNIFICATION <br />All contracts for services shall provide that the <br />contractor shall indemnify and save harmless the county, <br />its officers, agents and empIoyees from any injuries or <br />damages received by any—per-son—during anioperations <br />connected with the contract, or by use of any improper <br />materials or by any act or omission of the contractor or <br />his subcontractor, agents, servants or employees. <br />12.4 INSURANCE REQUIREMENT <br />The Risk Management Division will review, as requested, <br />special conditions and instructions to bidders for the <br />solicitation of bids or quotations for supplies, <br />services, or construction.
