PURCHASING DIVISION OVERVIEW <br />0-2- PURCHASING DIVISION OVERVIEW <br />The Purchasing Division is responsible for purchasing and <br />contracting for the acquisition of equipment, materials, <br />supplies, central warehousing, and services, and performing <br />all legal purchasing related tasks up to and through the <br />delivery of goods and services in compliance with Purchasing <br />Ordinance and Florida Statutes. <br />Preparing, reviewing, and approving specifications, <br />requesting price quotations, advertising, opening and <br />evaluating, bids received, recommending to County <br />Commissioners for action at regular Commission meetings. <br />Monitoring compliance by department headsaf purchasing laws <br />and regulations. <br />Monitoring and evaluating vendor performances. <br />Maintaining all purchasing records. <br />Selling or otherwise disposing of personal property owned by <br />the Board of County Commissioners whicfi7--rs surplus or no <br />longer needed for Indian River County. <br />The Purchasing Manager shall cooperate with the office of <br />Budget Management in the preparation of statistical data <br />concerning the procurement usage and disposition.
