OCT 6199 2 1 �� � <br />�, <br />ARTICLE 15 <br />OTHER CONDITIO`S OR SERVICES <br />Increase staff productivity. <br />Have policy procedure directives written which meet all State <br />standards, and are a usable tool for the staff. <br />Adequate storage shall be provided to accommodate the -jail <br />records, supplies, personal property and jail properties. <br />Staffing: <br />Reduction of noise for staff and inmates, with an area for <br />.staff to have a multi-purpose room that is out of sight and <br />sound of inmates. <br />Staff shall be trained to meet State standards, and also <br />provide in-service training to solve special problems that <br />might arise. <br />Facility design shall minimize staffing needs. <br />Housing: <br />Provide a flexible, minimum security housing area to <br />accommodate alternative programs for detention. <br />To accommodate a number of individual needs for special inmates <br />such as infirmary cells for the mentally and emotionally <br />disturbed inmates, drug and alcohol abuse inmates and juvenile <br />inmates. <br />Sufficient single -cell occupancy to insure safety, health, <br />• welfare and protection of individual rights of inmates. <br />That the jail be -designed for expansion if it becomes necessary <br />due to an increase of inmate population. <br />To avoid stress and promote harmony, the construction should be <br />designed to eliminate, as much as possible, excess levels of <br />noise. <br />Security: <br />Provide multiple layers of security, to include maximum, medium <br />and minimum. <br />Reduce introduction of contraband. <br />Each area of the jail should be designed to achieve the optimum <br />of security for that section. <br />AIA DOCUMENT 0141 - OWAIfR•ARCHITECT AGREEIMENT - THIRTEENTH EDITION - JULY 1977 - AIAO - O 1177 <br />THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE W ARCHITECTS. 17]1 NEW YORK AVENUE, NW., WANIIINGTON, D.C. 20006 B141-1977 11 I <br />
