POTABLE -WATER SUB_ -ELEMENT - <br />GOAL, OBJECTIVES AND POLICIES <br />GOAL <br />It is the goal of Indian River County to have an efficient system <br />of potable water provision to, prevent degradation of existing <br />resources, promote orderly growth within the county service are <br />and to meet existing and projected demands. <br />OBJECTIVE 1 Service Concurrent with Development <br />By 1991, the county will have adopted land development regulations <br />requiring potable water service to be provided concurrent with <br />development. <br />POLICY L-L:—Jew development_�_within the .unincorporated <br />portion of the Indian River County shall be approved only <br />when capacity is available to provide needed potable water <br />service. <br />POLICY 1.2: All authorities within the county service.area <br />operating potable water facilities shall monito�lity <br />dellidrids and capacity information -mss- level-opi-Lient orde <br />granted and shall continually advise the county of the <br />remaining capacity and changes in demand. <br />POLICY-L3:—The level of- servi-cestandards for -the county' -a <br />potable- water facilities of 250 gallons per day (GPD) oar <br />equivalent residential unit (ERU), based on county ordinance <br />no. 84-18, are hereby adopted and shall be utilized for <br />determining the availability of facility capacity and the <br />'demand- generated —by---a--development. - Wellfield- capacity, <br />storage capacity and delivery pressure shall be based on the <br />following: <br />- Wellfield capacity shall be the average daily use plus the <br />largest well being out of service <br />Storage tank capacii y�sha�l be -ate 1-e-astt 112-- the average <br />daily consumption volume <br />- High service pump capacity shall at least be equal to the <br />maximum daily demand <br />Pressures of the high service pumps for the county plants <br />shall be a minimum of 40 PSI delivery pressures. <br />At fire flow conditions the system shall be able to provide <br />delivery pressures of 20 PSI. <br />Water quality shall at least meet EPA and State of Florida <br />( safe drinking water requirements. <br />45 <br />SmeadSoft Reprint Date: Monday, August 12, 2013 - 15:22:21 - OffcialDocuments:672, Attachment Id 0, Page 49 <br />
