POTABLE WATER SUB -ELEMENT <br />POLICY 1.4: The county shall develop procedures to update <br />TNCi y demand and capacity information, as development <br />orders or permits are issued. <br />POLICY 1.5: The Utilities Department shall prepare annual <br />summaries of demand and capacity information for each facili- <br />ty serviz"re . <br />POLICY 1.6: The county shall continue to allow the use of <br />private wells in rural areas for single family units and for <br />small retail establishments where approved by regulatory <br />agencies consistent with the a Cached water—and—wastewater <br />;connection matrix (Table 3.B.19). <br />OBJECTIVE 2 Correction--af Deficiencies <br />y 199b, jU% ot the existing residential units and 50% of the <br />existing non-residential establishments within the 1995 potable <br />water service area shown in Figure 3.B.8 of the sub -element will <br />be connected to a regional potable water system. <br />POLICY 2. 1 The <br />county shall continue to offere utility <br />assessment program to areas with private wells within the <br />County Utilities Department service area. <br />POLIC�2-.-2: By 1911 -,—the --county siraaaaa l research and develop a <br />program to offer a—more flexihl€ uilit�assessmento <br />designated low income areas with private wells within the <br />County Utilities Department service area. This program <br />shall: <br />Provide for more flexible assessment terms or rates <br />Allow amortization of assessed fees <br />Use Community Development Block Grant Funds or other <br />state and federal funds, when available <br />POLICY 2.3: The list of subdivisions having undersized lots <br />within the County Utilities Department service area designat- <br />ed as requiring potable water service due to public health <br />threats shall be updated through an annual review process. <br />These subdivisions shall be given priority for the provision <br />of public water over a new development requesting service at <br />the same time. <br />POLICY 2.4: The county shall provide _potable -water_ service <br />to areas determined to lie public health threats.
