with the Public Works Department to come up with a suitable <br />course for Stratton Avenue extension itself.. <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked if we went through the <br />appeal process and did not compromise whether the Attorney <br />felt we still would be able to maintain our position re the <br />factor of illegal annexation. <br />Attorney Brandenburg felt if Sebastian were to start a <br />new annexation petition for property just on the west side <br />of U.S.1, our chances of prevailing would be greatly <br />diminished. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, the Board unanimously <br />added discussion re the Sebastian annexation <br />to the agenda. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated that his purpose was to let <br />the Board know that discussions have taken place; that <br />Sebastian may be considering it this evening; and determine <br />whether the Board feels it is an acceptable alternative. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher for purposes of dis- <br />cussion, that we would not oppose the annexa- <br />tion on the west side of U.S.1 and we will help <br />with the road and we would expect Sebastian to <br />drop the annexation on the east side of U.S.I. <br />Commissioner Fletcher expressed concern as to whether a <br />year from now the City of Sebastian could come back and <br />annex the east side. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated that if the City extends <br />its boundaries in a sequential manner, they would be doing <br />T <br />OCT 2 019-82 51 `5 <br />
