This <br />way, he felt, the citizens would realize that the Judge or <br />'Mrs. Edwards were not the problem, nor was it confined to <br />the area that was his courtroom and office space. <br />Commissioner Fletcher asked how much it would cost for <br />the Judge to finish his two year term. <br />The Judge responded that he did not have to retire <br />until he was seventy, God willing, and that the people still <br />want him until that time comes. The Judge continued that he <br />was not priceless or invaluable; he could be replaced. He <br />felt it was interesting that Mr. Barton was taking an $845 <br />recorder and charging him $1,200 for it. Also, that they <br />failed to,mention to the Press that in his budget, he had <br />turned back to the County in excess of $10,000 last year. <br />The Judge stated that perhaps it might be the best thing <br />that there be another judge - he was not saying that he was <br />going to step down, no way would he say that as he had never <br />quit anything in his life. Judge Stikelether felt that if <br />the Board worked with the ecological engineers that Dr. <br />Feldman could recommend, he thought they could give some <br />ballpark figures, not just for Courtroom C or his office, <br />but also Judge Smith's quarters, Courtroom A and B, and the <br />offices on the first floor. <br />Commissioner Fletcher spoke about the communication <br />problem again. He referred to some individuals who work at <br />the courthouse and the administration building who are not <br />perfection.; he has great optomism that they will better <br />themselves through gentle persuasion and observation. <br />He felt until that sort of one-upsmanship or ego thing gets <br />settled down, he did not see the communications' problem <br />improving. <br />'I <br />Judge Stikelether stated that if Commissioner Fletcher <br />was saying that it was a battle of �e judges against the <br />� <br />OCT 2 0 1982 21. ! 51 FUE <br />
