®V 3 <br />1982 <br />BOOK <br />1 <br />5 *,9V3 4 <br />present, <br />but it was necessary for him to remain with <br />the <br />ballots. <br />Chairman Scurlock noted that the Board delayed this <br />item and directed that the Judge be phoned. <br />Administrator Wright reported that his secretary, Mrs. <br />Gunter, phoned the Judge's office and reported that the <br />Judge would be back at 11:30 A.M. <br />Charirman Scurlock stated that this was a regularly <br />scheduled item and he made time available, and time is <br />available now to go over this item once again if the Board <br />desires to rehash it. <br />Judge Stikelether commented that Attorney Brandenburg <br />apparently released a letter written to him by Attorney <br />Michael Eriksen representing Judge Stikelether. He then <br />questioned Chairman Scurlock closely as to any conversation <br />he may have had with Judge Smith since he, Judge <br />Stikelether, was in the hospital and whether he was <br />mentioned in any such conversation. <br />Chairman Scurlock replied that the only discussion he <br />had with Judge Smith in about a month was in reference to <br />the courtroom facility, and the Board's position in not <br />replacing the carpet again. <br />Judge Stikelether continued to question the Chairman as <br />to whether he ever discussed with Judge Smith anything <br />concerning Judge Stikelether's stay in the hospital, and <br />Chairman Scurlock informed him that the conversation was <br />very general and related only to the possibility of whether <br />Judge Stikelether would ever return to the Courthouse, which <br />Judge Smith doubted. The Chairman noted that he did state <br />that he knew Judge Stikelether was in the hospital and <br />apparently did not have any problems with their carpet. <br />Commissioner Fletcher explained to the Judge that the <br />action taken by the Board this morning was a request that <br />
