N O V 17 1992 <br />ROOK <br />fire station with money the County put up, that very shortly <br />the South County firemen would be up there running it. <br />Chairman Scurlock emphasized that the North County and <br />South County fire districts are two separate entities, and <br />the Board of County Commissioners is in control of the <br />situation. <br />Discussion continued at length regarding the <br />possibility of funding only the Ambulance Squad because of <br />the technical problems involved, and also regarding what the <br />City of Sebastian has said and what the North County Fire <br />District wants. <br />ON MOTION BY Commissioner Wodtke, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Fletcher, the Board unani- <br />mously agreed to extend the meeting to 9:30 P.M. <br />Commissioner Bird felt very strongly that one of the <br />greatest benefits of the new station for the Fire and <br />Ambulance Squads would be to General Development Company <br />which has such extensive development in this area, and he <br />felt they should participate financially. He further—A=- --- <br />believed we have set a precedent in making donations to the <br />Vero Beach Ambulance Squad. <br />J <br />w <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Bird, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Wodtke, to donate $5,000 to <br />the North County Volunteer Ambulance Squad for <br />the building fund and instruct the Chairman to <br />write an appropriate letter to officials at <br />General Development Corporation outlining the <br />project, the funding that is required, and re- <br />questing them to participate in the amount of <br />$11,000. <br />77 <br />
