N OV 17 1992 <br />BOOP( <br />Commissioner Fletcher and Lyons agreed to include the <br />above provisions in their Motion. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION on the <br />Motion including the above statements. It was <br />voted on and carried unanimously. <br />Fellsmere Mayor Alvin Thomas asked if the lease would <br />be for $1.00 a year, and the City would maintain and insure <br />the building, and this was confirmed. <br />the Board for their consideration. <br />BEACH ACQUISITION PROGRAM <br />Mayor Thomas thanked <br />Public Works Director Davis reported that staff is <br />working on recommendations for beach acquisition under the <br />Save Our Coast Program, and if the County wishes to be <br />considered in the first 50 million dollar round, it is <br />desired that we submit a formal resolution at the earliest <br />possible time indicating that the county has the authority <br />to raise the money by bonds for such acquisition and <br />confirming that the property will be developed a's a park for <br />outdoor recreation, etc. He noted that there are two or <br />three counties which had a referendum regarding beach <br />acquisition at the last election. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bird, that the Chairman write <br />the Department of Natural Resources and indicate <br />informally that we are going to prepare such a <br />resolution and also that we ask the Attorney to <br />prepare such a resolution with whatever facts we <br />have available for the next meeting. <br />81 <br />
