M <br />Commissioner Bird felt one of the first things we <br />should do is prioritize our parcels. <br />Commissioner Fletcher expressed concern about any <br />"strings attached" and wished to know how much the state is <br />willing to commit. <br />Chairman Scurlock explained that the state is not going <br />to commit to anything other than that they will consider us <br />on the first round if we are willing to try. <br />Attorney Brandenburg stated that he would try to draft <br />a resolution without strings; he did not believe it is <br />required that this resolution specify specific sites. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt that possibly the Parks & <br />Recreation Committee can come up with a recommendation on <br />sites. His preference was to expand anything we have <br />existing and then possibly acquire more 70' strips for beach <br />access. <br />Chairman Scurlock agreed that we can assign this to <br />Commissioner Bird and his committee and the Administrator <br />and Community Services Director could work With them. <br />Commissioner Fletcher believed the referendum specified <br />that we were going to put all funds into acquisition of <br />land, and he expressed concern that we maximize every <br />Possibility to buy the most economical piece of land without <br />being gouged.
