Finney -q-, REFERENICES: <br />Engineer Technician <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The project proposal is to develop the park in three <br />phases. Phase I in 1982-1983 to consist of clearing native <br />trails, installing signs, six picnic tables, six charcoal <br />gr 11z,,four benchs, and a playground tire swing. <br />A large wood "park" sign and flagpole to be placed on <br />the Inland Waterway side of the island and a portable toilet <br />on each side of the island. One permanent wood boat dock 51x20' <br />on each side of the island. <br />This phase of construction will increase the publics <br />use and access to the park. See attached narrative and site <br />plan. <br />Construction shall not begin until all necessary permits <br />and site plan approvals are obtained from F.I.N.D., D.E.R., <br />Indian River Shores and D.N.R. <br />Estimated cost of Phase I-$9,020. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />1. County Road and Bridge Department clear nature trails, <br />erect and build boat docks. <br />2. Contractor hired to do Item 1 above on an hourly <br />basis. <br />3. Let out for bids entire Phase I construction. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Recommend Alternative No. 1 construction take place <br />as time permits, Road and Bridge Special Projects Department <br />to do the work, and as various materials such as signs, <br />flagpole, etc. are purchased and received. <br />Approve use of existing $3,500 in Florida Navigation <br />District Fund and request an additional $3,800 from F.I.N.D. <br />to start the initial construction Phase I. <br />Apply to Boating Improvement Trust Program for $1,800+ <br />to fund the two boat docks. <br />116 <br />DEC 15 1982 <br />6X 52 .PAGE 40:4 <br />I <br />
