L-A <br />s <br />Commissioner Lyons felt that, in the end, it is all based on <br />a lot of assumptions. <br />The Chirman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />John Thompson informed the Board that he and his family <br />own the 35 acres adjacent on the east which is designated <br />Agricultural. Apparently, there is some question as to <br />whether there is a commercial node at that intersection or <br />not, but they would not have any objection to Mr. Austin's <br />proposal regardless. Hopefully their property eventually <br />will be commercial, and a buffer would be needed. Mr. <br />Johnson believed there is a shortage of multi -family units <br />for rent and wished to speak in favor of the rezoning. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Lyons, the Board unanimously <br />closed the public hearing. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, to adopt <br />Ordinance 83-6 rezoning the Austin parcel <br />as advertised and as recommended by staff. <br />Commissioner Wodtke commented that a question was <br />raised at the Planning & Zoning Commission meeting re <br />drainage problems in this subdivision, and Commissioner <br />Fletcher noted `that the minutes of that meeting indicate <br />that Engineer Robert Lloyd said he had received tentative <br />approval of this plat from the Health Department. <br />Mr. Lloyd explained that he took the conceptual plan <br />to the Health Department to determine whether it would be <br />acceptable to the Health Department if they built as <br />proposed.
