M M <br />ported that a meeting is scheduled.to educate all employees <br />involved in the current systema He felt such a meeting, <br />plus the change in the mode of treatment, will prevent this <br />from happening in the future. <br />Chairman Bird asked if a high chlorine level would <br />cause a biological problem in the effluent pond. Mr. Pinto <br />replied that they won't be operating the pond as biological <br />treatment; it will be a different and more expensive type of <br />treatment because of the chemicals used, and there will be <br />far less chance of a similar problem arising. <br />Administrator Wright agreed it is unfortunate t -bis <br />happened, but was sure it will not happen in the future. He <br />believed the Utilities Dept. acted expeditiously as possible <br />to correct the problem. <br />CONSIDERATION OF DR. WALKER AS MEDICAL EXAMINER FOR THE <br />NINETEENTH CIRCUIT <br />The Board had deferred this matter from the morning <br />session in order to obtain additional information. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that he had been able to <br />contact Dr. Schofield, who advised on behalf of area <br />Z <br />pathologists who had worked with Dr. Walker, that he was <br />considered very capable and competent. Dr. Schofield stated <br />that he personally would have no problems with Dr. Walker's <br />appointment and added that none of the doctors in Indian <br />River County would like to operate at that level, but <br />preferred to continue to act in -an assistant role. <br />ON.MOTION MADE by Commissioner Wodtke, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the <br />Board unanimously authorized Chairman Bird <br />to write a letter to State Attorney <br />35 <br />FEB 116119831 <br />
