r FEB 16 193 <br />52;' 826 <br />would like the Community Development staff to react to this <br />and make comment to Commissioner Lyons on the proposed Bill. <br />Commissioner Bird reported that he had received a <br />letter addressed to former Commissioner Fletcher from an <br />Attorney representing property owners on the Sebastian <br />River. He believed we had previously authorized Mr. <br />Fletcher to spearhead some studies involving the Sebastian <br />River, and was not sure how to answer this letter. <br />In further discussion, it was suggested that we ask the <br />new County Commissioner who will be appointed for the North <br />County District to check with Mr. Fletcher to see if he <br />wishes to pursue the matter further. <br />REALTOR'S BOARD TO BECOME MORE INVOLVED IN LOCAL GOVERNMENT <br />Paul Koehler, President of the Vero Beach -Indian River <br />County Board of Realtors, made the following presentation: <br />MY NAME IS PAUL KOEHLER OF 1815 28TH AVENUE. I AM THE <br />PRESIDENT OF.THE VERO BEACH - INDIAN RIVER COUNTY BOARD OF <br />REALTORS, AND REPRESENTING THAT ASSOCIATION TODAY. <br />THE BOARD OF REALTORS HAS DECIDED TO BECOME INVOLVED IN <br />MATTRS THAT PERTAIN TO REAL PROPERTY RIGHTS. WE WOULD LIKE <br />TO TAKE A POSITIVE POSITION AND HELP IN THE DECISION MAKING <br />PROC SS THAT AFFECT THESE RIGHTS. <br />IN GENERAL WE HAVE THE SAME GOALS THAT YOU HAVE IN <br />HELPING INDIAN RIVER COUNTY GROW, BUT GROW WITH BEAUTY, <br />ACCEPTABLE DENSITY, WITH THOUGHT, CONTROL AND PURPOSE. <br />THE MEN AND WOMEN WHO BELONG TO THE BOARD OF REALTORS <br />(AND THEY ARE 600 STRONG) HAVE INDEPTH KNOWLEDGE OF REAL <br />ESTATE, PLANNING, ZONING, FINANCING, RESTRICTIONS AND GOOD <br />COMMON SENSE. WE WOULD LIKE TO OFFER THIS KNOWLEDGE TO YOU <br />AND YOUR STAFF, NOT ONLY DO WE HAVE THE EXPERTISE OF LOCAL <br />REALTORS BUT WE CAN OFFER THE EXPERTISE OF THE STATE AND <br />NATIONAL ASSOCIATIONS.
