TO FORTIFY OUR DESIRE TO SERVE AND BE INVOLVED, WE HAVE <br />DEVELOPED A COMMTTT EE TO ATTEND ALL COUNTY AND CITY MEETINGS, <br />AND THE PLANNiN( AND ZONING MEETINGS. IN ADDITION TO THIS, <br />WE HAVE FORMED A POLIT iCAL ACTION COMMITTEE AND ARE HIRING <br />A POLITICAL L-AISON PFRSON. I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE -OUR <br />COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN, MR. NEIL NELSON. WE HAVE NOT HIRED THE <br />LIAISON PERSON AT THIS TIME. <br />MAY I REVIEW WITH YOU HOW WE WILL BE INVOLVED AND OUR <br />PURPOSE: <br />1.) BY ATTENDING THE MEETINGS OF THE COMMISSION AND PLANNING <br />DEPARTMENT. <br />2.) BY ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE AND COOPERATIVE NETWORK <br />BETWEEN OUR BOARD,'YOU, AND YOUR STAFF. <br />3.) I BELIEVE THIS WILL LEAD TO BETTER USE OF OUR LAND, <br />PROMOTION OF PROPERTY RIGHTS, AND TO BETTER SERVE ALL THE <br />CITIZENS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY. <br />Commissioner Lyons stated that he would welcome the <br />input of the Board of. Realtors, and Commissioner Scurlock <br />concurred that it is important for various elements of the <br />community to participate in County government. <br />Chairman Bird suggested the Realtors Board recommend a <br />qualified applicant for the "realtor" seat on the new Code <br />Enforcement Board, and advised the Commission needs the name <br />submitted at least a.week in advance of the March 16, 1983 <br />Regular Meeting. <br />REPORT ON BEACH RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION COMMITTEE <br />MEETING. <br />Commissioner Wodtke reported that a meeting of the <br />above Committee was held on February 8th. He felt it was an <br />excellent meeting and that they had made excellent progress <br />in their approach to determining an equal and fair distribu- <br />tion of the cost of beach renourishment. He reported that <br />they have been looking at figures on an assessment basis as <br />well as on a footage basis and they will look at valuations <br />
