authorized the Administrator to make the neces- <br />sary arrangements with the Water Management <br />District for them to drill the proposed monitor- <br />ing wells. <br />STATUS OF DOUGLAS SCHOOL <br />Sheriff Dobeck reported that he has tried to contact <br />Mrs. Ingram of the West Wabasso Progressive Civic League, <br />but has been.unable to get in touch with her. <br />It was agreed to delay this item temporarily to make a <br />further effort to reach Mrs. Ingram. <br />REQUEST TO SHIFT FUNDS -IN SHERIFF'S BUDGET <br />Sheriff Dobeck came before the Board and reported that <br />he has an opportunity to purchase a brake machine at a <br />substantially reduced rate; these machines generally cost <br />about $5,000, and they currently pay $21 apiece to have <br />their brakes done. The Sheriff wished to transfer funds iri <br />the amount of $2,500 from the Auto Expense Account into <br />Capital Outlay. He explained that they had figured in the <br />budget an amount for the brake jobs that would have to be <br />done during the year, and they would be using that money to <br />purchase the machine outright. <br />Some discussion ensued as to whether there is any <br />possibility the County could utilize this machine also, and <br />Sheriff Dobeck felt there would undoubtedly be some downtime <br />when the brake machine would be available. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unani- <br />mously approved the following Budget Amendment <br />as requested by Sheriff Dobeck. <br />53 <br />FEB 1 198 r�: <br />
