Resolution to Support Amendment to Florida Statutes re <br />Imposition of a Local Option Tourist Tax <br />Attorney Gary Brandenburg reviewed the draft of a <br />resolution to support an amendment to Florida Statutes <br />imposing a local option tourist tax, noting that the Board <br />had previously approved the concept. He suggested that in <br />addition to adopting the Resolution, the Board authorize the <br />Chairman to send a letter to all Florida counties requesting <br />their support of the amendment to Florida statutes. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Lyons, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Scurlock, the <br />Board unanimously adopted Resolution 83-20, <br />supporting an amendment to Florida Statutes <br />§125.0104 which would allow the imposition of <br />a local option tourist tax to raise funds for <br />beach renourishment and care; and authorized <br />the Chairman to write all Florida counties <br />requesting their support. <br />RESOLUTION NO.'83-20 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA SUPPORTING AN <br />AMENDMENT TO FLORIDA STATUTES §125.0104 WHICH WOULD <br />ALLOW THE IMPOSITION OF A LOCAL OPTION TOURIST TAX <br />TO R4ISE FUNDS FOR.
