REPORT ON BEACH ACQUISITION SUB -COMMITTEE <br />Chairman Bird reported that the Beach Acquisition <br />Sub -Committee is continuing to expand their search for <br />oceanfront property and working with staff to develop an <br />evaluation formula. They are trying to exhaust every <br />opportunity to create competition among property owners. He <br />stated that they would like to run a large ad bringing out <br />the fact that Indian River County is soliciting proposals on <br />acquiring additional oceanfront property. Another request <br />was that the Board authorize the Beach Acquisition <br />Sub -Committee to set up some negotiating teams within the <br />committee to start getting more specific on particular <br />pieces of property. <br />Attorney Brandenburg emphasized that the status of the <br />property on the beach is such that it is continually <br />changing hands and it is necessary to start negotiating <br />somewhere. <br />ON MOTION.MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the Board <br />un_�nimously authorized the Chairman to set <br />up committee negotiating teams, to commence <br />negotiations and to place an advertisement <br />in the local newspaper as discussed above. <br />BEACH ACQUISITION FINANCING <br />Administrator Wright reviewed the recommendations of <br />the Finance Advisory Committee as'"set out in the following <br />memo: <br />56 <br />MAR2 1983 Ac <br />
