ORDINANCE 2012-029 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA CONCERNING AN <br />AMENDMENT TO ITS LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS (LDR); PROVIDING FOR <br />AMENDMENTS TO CHAPTER 954, OFF-STREET PARKING, BY REVISING PARKING <br />STANDARDS; AUTOMOTIVE VEHICLES SECTION 954.05; BY REVISING NON - <br />CONCURRENT PARKING STUDY SECTION 954.08(2); BY REVISING NO SIMILAR USE <br />STUDY SECTION 954.08(3); BY REVISING UNPAVED VEHICLE STORAGE LOTS <br />SECTION 954.08(6); AND BY REVISING OFF-STREET LOADING REGULATIONS <br />SECTION 954.09; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; <br />CODIFICATION; SEVERABILITY; AND EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER <br />COUNTY, FLORIDA THAT THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY LAND DEVELOPMENT <br />REGULATIONS (LDRS) CHAPTER 954, OFF-STREET PARKING, BE AMENDED AS <br />FOLLOWS: <br />SECTION #I: <br />Amend LDR Section 954.05, Parking standards; automotive vehicles, to read as follows: <br />The following standards shall apply to the uses as noted: <br />(1) Amusement game parlors, pool halls, and other similar recreational buildings. One <br />space per two hundred (200) square feet of gross building area. <br />(2) Automotive, boat, and trailer sales. One space per five hundred (500) square feet of <br />gross building area plus one space per twenty-five hundred (2,500) square feet of <br />outside display area. The display area for boat sales shall be either paved, fully <br />sodded or otherwise stabilized as approved by the public works director. <br />(3) Auto repair, auto body, and diagnostic shops. A minimum of six (6) parking spaces <br />is required for buildings under two thousand (2,000) square feet in size. For <br />buildings two thousand (2,000) square feet or larger one parking space shall be <br />required for every four hundred (400) square feet of gross building area. All <br />customer parking shall be clearly marked. In addition to required parking spaces <br />and driveway lanes, paved staging area for vehicles awaiting service or after - <br />service pick up shall be provided at a rate of one hundred fifty (150) square feet <br />per one thousand (1,000) square feet of building area. Service bays may not be <br />counted as parking spaces. <br />(4) Banks and other financial institutions frequented by the public. One space per two <br />hundred (200) square feet of gross building area. <br />(5) Beauty parlor, barber shop, or other personal services. One space per two hundred <br />(200) square feet of gross floor area. <br />(6) Bed and breakfast. Two (2) spaces plus one space per rentable room.
