r MAY 18 1983 DInx <br />Commissioner Lyons -requested that the Facility <br />Committee be given an opportunity to comment on site <br />locations when the recommendation is made to the Commission. <br />Director Davis asked if he was authorized for some <br />minor expenses involved in analysis of sites if a soil test <br />or other tests are needed. The Board had no objections. <br />The Chairman CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion was carried unanimously. <br />Discussion followed on accepting the report itself and <br />conveying it to the D.O.C. <br />ON MOTION BY Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, the <br />Board unanimously accepted the report <br />as presented today by Frizzell Architects <br />subject to future Commission comment and <br />authorized transmitting a copy to the <br />D.O.C. for their comment. <br />(Said report is on file in the County Commission <br />Of f ice) <br />Commissioner Scurlock suggested that it might be a good <br />idea for the Chairman to write some kind of cover letter to <br />the D.O.C., in regard to our action re land selection. <br />Commissioner Scurlock brought up the need to put a team <br />together for a public education program. He hoped that <br />perhaps at the next meeting we could authorize some <br />representatives from Finance, from the Commission, and from <br />the Facility Committee to begin that program. <br />Phil Long, reporter from the Miami Herald, asked what <br />would be the last day that someone could walk in with a <br />24 <br />I <br />
