Both Mr. Shannon and Mr. Magee concurred <br />that the next most important step is the amendatory process <br />that will occur at the June 2nd committee meeting. Mr. <br />Magee reported that five pages of amendments already have <br />been received from Martin County to be presented at that <br />meeting. <br />Community Development Director King felt he mainly <br />could be of service in trying .to identify what policies are <br />not presently contained in our Comprehensive Plan and any <br />ramification those policies might have. He believed the <br />Commission then must come to some decision and give their <br />representation on the committee definite direction. <br />It was generally agreed a Special Meeting should be <br />called and advertised to obtain public input, letting it be <br />known that copies of the proposed plan are available in the <br />Planning Department. <br />The Board then discussed the Committee's procedure <br />policy, and Mr. Shannon reported that they will have three <br />readings of the plan - the second reading is to amend and <br />then there will be a final meeting. <br />Commissioner Scurlock objected to the proposed <br />procedure., and Mr. Magee pointed out that the County could <br />express such an objection and state that more time is <br />needed. Then, if the committee votes that more time is <br />needed, the committee rules. He emphasized that the <br />counties have control of the committee. <br />In further discussion, Commissioner Wodtke felt <br />possibly we are reacting too fast as the Committee may <br />60 <br />
