Board approve the recommendation of the <br />County Administrator and authorize staff to <br />take appropriate action and bid out <br />insurance premiums annually. <br />Under discussion Commissioner Scurlock suggested that <br />the Board should address the issue of possible participation <br />in the family policy by the employee. The County offers an <br />extensive family policy, and he felt that the employees <br />should be advised just what their fringe benefit package is <br />costing the County, and appreciate the fact that paid health <br />insurance premiums amount to approximately $40 a week. <br />Finance Director Barton informed the Board that the <br />average -monthly cost of medical coverage is $115 a month per <br />employee, which also includes $5,000 life insurance. <br />Administrator Wright felt that a higher deductible <br />should be considered when restructuring the health insurance <br />plan. <br />Commissioner Scurlock recommended that the County go <br />out for bids on insurance every year in order to keep the <br />figures competitive. <br />The Chairman CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion was voted on and carried <br />unanimously. <br />DISCUSSION - LOCAL GOVERNMENT LIABILITY UNDER 42USC <br />The Board reviewed the following letter dated 5/3/83: <br />24 <br />JUN 1 1983 <br />B90K U3 Wt WD' <br />
