Bogosian, attorney, addressed the Board, and <br />stated he was representing the owner of the property, Mr. <br />Jack Dritenbas, as trustee and attorney. He explained that <br />Jack Dritenbas has been a builder in this County over the <br />past 25 years and became disenchanted with the supplies that <br />he had been receiving in the course of his building and <br />decided that he could build a better product. He, <br />therefore, began to look around for a parcel of industrial <br />zoned land and located 5 acres up in Gifford that is <br />presently owned by Marshall Barnes, on which he signed a <br />contract to purchase the land contingent on it being <br />rezoned from residential to industrial. On May 26, 1983, <br />the Planning & Zoning Commission denied their request for <br />rezoning. Prior to the Public Hearing, they felt that it <br />was an ideal location and had received favorable opinion <br />from the Planning & Zoning Commission. However, they had <br />met considerable opposition to the rezoning at the public <br />hearing. He explained that Mr. Dritenbas is presently on <br />vacation, and had given him instructions that to withdraw <br />the rezoning appeal if any opposition was raised at this <br />meeting. <br />ki <br />Chairman Bird arrived at 9:15 o'clock A.M. and took <br />over the meeting. <br />Chairman Bird opened the Public Hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. <br />Mr. Clyde Morgan, 4950 23rd Court, came forward and <br />addressed the Board. He stated he has been a County <br />resident for about 39 years and that his home adjoins the <br />property belonging to Mr. Barnes that is being considered <br />for rezoning. He confirmed that Mr. Dritenbas explained <br />that he is going to build a truss plant and intended to <br />employ some people from the community and he thought that <br />would be a good idea. However, he felt that once you start <br />rezoning the property, it will keep on going. <br />He would <br />
