Fr__ : - I , <br />JUL 2 0 1983 - x 54 U_ -e <br />The Board of County Commissioners thereupon recessed for <br />lunch at 12:20 o'clock P.M. and reconvened at 1:30 o'clock P.M. <br />with all members present except Commissioner Wodtke who returned <br />later in the meeting. <br />Chairman Bird announced that Commissioner Wodtke is <br />attending the funeral of Robert Cushman on behalf of the <br />Commission. <br />(CONTINUATION) PUBLIC HEARING ON PLATTING ORDINANCE <br />The Chairman informed those present that the public hearing <br />in regard to a proposed Ordinance regulating platting and <br />subdivision of land would be resumed. <br />The Chairman asked if anyone present wished to be heard. <br />Micheal Carpenter of the Ed Schlitt Agency felt the proposed <br />ordinance is a good one, but stated they have an area of concern <br />with the flag lots and with public access to water and the <br />potential parking problem which could result. <br />Attorney Brandenburg explained that this concept was not <br />intended to provide for major beach accesses for the public,but <br />was meant to be more of a walkway type of neighborhood community <br />local access, and he did not believe there is any intention on <br />the part of the County to put up a big sign and advertise this <br />type beach access. <br />Peter Robinson, developer of Laurel Homes, had objections to <br />the requirements re sidewalks and bicycle paths. He felt if it <br />is required to put sidewalks in at the development stage, <br />problems could arise when septic tank fill requirements go to a <br />different grade than the sidewalks, possibly resulting in <br />sidewalks at varying heights. He further noted that maintenance <br />would be a problem over the years and cited the possibility of <br />people tripping over broken sidewalks. If sidewalks are to be <br />only on one side of the street, Mr. Robinson felt there should be <br />a note on the plat specifying this. As far as flag lots are <br />46 <br />
