-- <br />Commissioner Lyons asked about our options on the <br />Graves property and Attorney Brandenburg confirmed that we <br />have a verbal extension to September 8th. <br />Commissioner Scurlock recommended that Commissioner <br />Lyons and his committee be authorized to make immediate <br />contact with the City to see if they are interested or not, <br />using the time extension to Sept. 8th as a guideline. <br />Attorney Brandenburg advised.that even if the City <br />agreed to sell, it would be subject to FAA approval and you <br />would not know that for a considerable length of time. <br />Commissioner Wodtke emphasized that we can get the land <br />we are consideringnow without having to go through FAA and <br />expressed concern about losing the opportunity to acquire <br />these pieces. <br />Commissioner Lyons felt that we have to ask if the City <br />is willing to sell that property''for $8,000 and Attorney <br />Brandenburg reported that the City would be meeting on <br />September 6th, one day prior to the Board's next meeting, <br />making it possible for the County to still purchase the <br />Graves and Barnes properties. <br />Mr. Zorc advised that the City is willing to conduct a <br />workshop meeting with the County prior to the next council <br />meeting. <br />Chairman Bird recommended that Commissioner Lyons be <br />authorized to negotiate with the City and take whatever <br />steps are necessary to have a decision by September 6th and <br />if necessary, to eisit the.
