She emphasized <br />that she is looking at every possible source for funds and <br />believed that preventive medicine will save expenses in the long <br />run. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Lyons, SECONDED <br />by Commissioner Bowman, to add $30,000 to the <br />Health Department budget for fiscal year 1983-84 <br />in view of the fact that the Maternal Health Care <br />Program was inadvertently omitted and lost during <br />the change in management. <br />Chairman Bird asked if the Motion was contingent on getting <br />matching funds from the state, and Commissioner Lyons stated that <br />it was not. <br />Commissioner Wodtke felt Dr. Lookabaugh had stated that if <br />she did not get the matching funds from the state, she could not <br />carry out the program. <br />Dr. Lookabaugh stated that she would not be able to carry <br />out a full maternal health care program; she would have to screen <br />and just take the neediest mothers, but she would provide <br />whatever services she could with whatever funds she could obtain. <br />She explained about competing for state funds and noted that she <br />is coordinating with Florida Community Health Services on this. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />It was voted on and carried unanimously. <br />WORKSHOP ON NEW SEPTIC TANK LAW <br />Commissioner Lyons brought up the new septic tank <br />legislation and reported that Dr. Lookabaugh has a program that <br />would be helpful to both the Commissioners and the developers as <br />97 <br />
