SEP 71983 <br />' Fh�Cr t <br />Alternative A <br />Negotiate trade-in of present IBM Copier Model 20 with <br />purchase of new Model 60 at a price of $28,917. Authorize staff <br />to negotitate interest rates and terms of purchase agreement. <br />Return to the Board for final approval and funding. <br />Alternative B <br />Continue purchase agreement of present Model 20. Request <br />Budget Director make necessary projection to adjust Maintenance <br />Account. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS <br />Staff recommends approval of Alternative A. No funding required <br />at this time. Staff will return with proposal for final <br />approval. <br />Lynn Williams, Building & Grounds Superintendent, <br />presented a request for a new IBM copier in the Central Copy <br />Room serving the Administration Building. This request is <br />due to the increase in service costs with the existing <br />copier. The present copier machine was purchased 5 years <br />ago and the County has outgrown it due to the heavy volume, <br />roughly 60,000 copies monthly for the last couple of months. <br />IBM has restructured the service contract and it will <br />actually penalize us for copies above a certain level on the <br />present copier. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, that the <br />Board approve staff recommendation of <br />Alternate A, to negotiate trade-in of <br />present IBM Copier Model 20 on purchase <br />of new Model 60 with no funding required <br />at this time, and return to the Board for <br />final approval and funding. <br />46 <br />
