This property has been used for commercial <br />purposes ever since he moved to Vero Beach 35 years ago. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt that the motion would be <br />better to include the entire property, rather than limiting <br />it to 350 feet.. <br />Mr. Johnston informed the Board that was the original <br />request and if the Commission felt that it would be better <br />to do it that way, Vista certainly would not have any <br />objection. He assured the Board that they would not develop <br />that area of the gardens, trees, etc. into total commercial. <br />Commissioner.Scurlock asked Mr. Keating if we had <br />sufficient control in the site plan for that and Mr. Keating <br />assured him that we did. <br />Commissioners Wodtke and Bowman withdrew their I -lotion <br />and Second. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board <br />adopt Ordinance 83-29 to approve Vista Properties <br />request to amend the Comprehensive Plan to <br />redesignate 19.68 acres from MD -2, Medium -Density <br />Residential to Commercial. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stressed that something must be <br />done to to come up with some vehicle to solve these <br />Comprehensive Land use and commercial strip problems. <br />Commissioner Lyons agreed that we do not have the <br />right method of.addressing this cluster situation. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion carried by a 3-2 vote, with <br />Commissioners Lyons and Bowman voting in <br />opposition. <br />61 �+ <br />bt�►K 5.4tAG� e <br />SEP 21 1983 <br />
