RESOLUTION NO. 2009-181 <br />WHEREAS, this change could cost Indian River County taxpayers more than <br />$500,000 in the 2010-2011 budget; and <br />WHEREAS, the disability community and many professional associations have <br />joined the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) in adopting the <br />association's "Position Paper" which supports the extension of this requirement to be <br />delayed from 2012 until 2016 due to the economic pressures on the Boards of County <br />Commissioners around the state, the operational impact to Supervisors of Elections' <br />budgets, and the fact that new technology has not been developed to allow any persons <br />with any disability to vote independently, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA does hereby wish to adopt <br />the FSASE "Position Paper" to delay the requirement to purchase the AutoMark voting <br />system until 2016. <br />This resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Davis and the <br />motion was seconded by Commissioner F1 escher and, upon being put to a vote, the <br />vote was as follows: <br />Chairman Peter D.
