He <br />reported that Attorney Brandenburg has indicated that he <br />would like a two-year contract, and has some thoughts about <br />what should be included in that agreement. Chairman Bird <br />felt that we should go ahead and set the limit of his <br />compensation today and discuss the details of his contract <br />later. • <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Lyons, that the <br />Board raise the compensation level of the <br />County Attorney consistent with that of the <br />County Administrator and begin negotiations <br />for a two-year contract. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Wodtke suggested that <br />the contracts of the Administrator and the Attorney be set <br />to fall concurrently with election years. <br />Commissioner Bowman disagreed and recommended that a <br />3 -year contract be offered to either the County <br />Administrator or the County Attorney, and a two-year <br />contract offered to the other, so that it is not possible to <br />lose both of them in the same year. <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED FOR THE QUESTION. <br />The Motion carried unanimously. <br />DISCUSSION RE EMPLOYMENT CONTRACTS WITH KEY COUNTY STAFF <br />Administrator Wright urged approval of contracts for <br />key members of the staff as his biggest fear is that he will <br />lose them.
