they should have the opportunity to have their questions <br />answered prior to the time the Board acts on it. <br />Chairman Bird felt that this was a matter where the <br />County has the road going into the river in one place and <br />onto Florida Land Co. property in another place, and it has <br />to be straightened out. <br />Commissioner Scurlock felt that the --road is a public <br />scenic_ trail and we want to have it forever; we want -to <br />maintain and stabilize it; it is something that is precious <br />to many people in this county. <br />MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Scurlock, <br />SECONDED by Commissioner Wodtke, that the Board <br />conceptually approve the moving of a portion of <br />the right-of-way along Jungle Trail; authorize <br />staff to work with Florida Land Co. and the Jungle <br />Trail Committee and return to the Board with a <br />formal agreement that will ensure stabilization of <br />the shoreline. <br />Under discussion, Commissioner Wodtke asked if there <br />could be some sort of a timeframe put on this as shoreline <br />stabilization needs to be done very soon. <br />Ruth Stanbridge pointed out that we have lost one grant <br />on this already and there is another grant of $10,000 <br />pending, but they need a permit first. The hearings may <br />take 30 or 60 days; until they receive the permit, they <br />cannot do anything. <br />Mr. Henderson asked if there was some way to exclude <br />the Florida Land Co. portion of the road from the erosion <br />control application as it was not their intent that the <br />County lose grant money. <br />OCT 19 1983 <br />46 <br />11 gf l'K . 55 ?Au 139 <br />
