GENERAL DEVELOPMENT UTILITIES, INC. <br />VERO WATER AND SEWER DIVISION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY RATE CASE <br />YEAR ENDED DECEMBER 31,1982 <br />EXHIBIT C -OPERATIONS <br />In 1982, the Utility System in Vero consisted of: <br />WATER SYSTEM - One .375 MGD Ion Exchange Water Softening Treatment Plant <br />with three production wells, two zeolilte softening units, one <br />250,000 -gallon storage reservoir, three peerless high service pumpts, one <br />10,000 -gallon pressure pneumatic tank, one 6" -distribution meter, <br />approximately 20 miles of distribution pipe ranging in size from 4" to <br />12", 68 fire hydrants, and 950 water meters serving 950 customers. <br />.SEWER SYSTEM - One .250 MGD activated sludge complete mix package sewage <br />treatment plant, eight lift stations, approximately 13 miles of gravity <br />collection mains serving 893 customers, and approximately four miles of <br />force mains. The treatment plant consists of one contact basin, one <br />aeration basin, one clarifier, one anaerobic digestor, two blowers and <br />miscellaneous piping. <br />PERSONNEL - The facilities are operated and maintained by three on-site <br />personnel and receives additional labor support as required from Port St. <br />Lucie. The three on -:site personnel are: <br />Dana Gallagher - Utility Community Superintendent <br />David Gee - Shift Operator <br />Alan Wheatley - Mechanic <br />No major improvements have been made to the system since the test year. <br />Schedule C-1 shows both water and sewer treated during the test year, <br />along with a calculation of unaccounted for water. <br />Schedule C-2 is a water analysis performed by Orlando Laboratories, Inc. <br />in November 1982. <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />17 <br />NOV 91993 <br />98 <br />�5 r�25.1 <br />
